Dr. Archana M Juneja

Mumbai-based Dr. Archana M Juneja is a Consultant Endocrinologist with over a decade of experience in Endocrine care, currently attached to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital. In the past she has worked at Sundaram Medical Foundation and Malar Hospitals in Chennai, Wockhardt Hospitals in Mumbai, and Seven Hills Hospitals in Mumbai.

Dr. Archana Juneja graduated from Seth GS Medical College and KEM Hospital (MBBS - 1997). She also obtained the DM (Endocrinology) and DNB (Endocrinology) titles through these institutions in 2004, after post-graduation (MD) from Topiwala National Medical College and BYL Nair Hospital, Mumbai, in 2004. She also completed Fellowships in Advanced Endocrinology in Australia from the Royal Brisbane Hospital in 2007 and the Princess Alexandra Hospital in 2008.

Dr. Archana Juneja's main areas of interest are Type 1 Diabetes, Reproductive and Neuro Endocrinology, and Paediatric Endocrinology.

While at Wockhardt Hospitals, Dr. Archana Juneja was instrumental in setting up the Department of Endocrinology and Metabolism and also introduced speciality clinics in Paediatric Endocrine and Metabolic Bone disease. She also initiated the patient-oriented Wockhardt Diabetes Club and Juvenile Diabetes support group.

In addition to patient care, Dr. Juneja has also been actively involved in conducting lectures and clinical meetings for Resident Medical Officers, Registrars, General Practitioners and nursing staff. She runs a support group for children with Type 1 diabetes and has enrolled more than 40 children and adolescents where regular educational sessions, camps and social get-togethers are conducted.

Dr. Archana Juneja is on the National Advisory Board of the DAWN YOUTH Chapter in India where youngsters with Diabetes are helped to tackle various Diabetes-related issues concerning education, employment and marriage.

In the field of Reproductive and Neuro Endocrinology, Dr. Juneja has worked on projects and presented papers on Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, Thyroid disorders in pregnancy and Turner's Syndrome. She has handled complex and rare Neuro-endocrine cases in both children and adults, such as Craniopharyngiomas and Pituitary Adenomas in pregnancy. She is well versed in dynamic Endocrine testing for growth hormone and other pituitary hormone deficiencies.

Dr. Juneja has used various forums, including newspapers, magazines and television to educate Diabetes patients on the management of their ailment.
